If you have a garden and books, then you have everything in this world. Books open windows of wonderful opportunities. One of my hobby is reading books on personal  and professional development.

I was inspired by one of closest friends to read books three years back.Since then, there was no looking back. I bought books at airports and train stations. I have a collection of books and some of my favourites are given below:

Think and Grow Rich By Napoleon Hill

What I liked about this book is that with the help of our mind, it is possible to achieve everything we want in this world. This book is a classic book and this is my number one favorite book. Next favourite books will be mentioned in coming posts.

Head or Heart?

Did it ever happen to you that you didn't know whom to follow? Either heart or head? So, what really happens in love is that your heart loves someone very much. Your head says he/she is not your right person and you shouldn't pursue him/her. Then you follow your head and never approach that person. You are simply scared to go against your head.

Then what happens is that in due course of time, the person you love is involved into relationship with another person.When you hear this, your heart is broken into thousand pieces.Then, the head feels so sorry for the heart and knows that you love this person very much. At this juncture, head says heart is right and try to get the person back. 

Then, the emotions and feelings of the heart died down and you become heartless.You will mourning for the loss of beloved one.You will be regretting for not telling the person that you love him/her.

Teach your children to read.

Do you encourage your children to read books? If  not, you can start now. Teach your children to read books and your children will be grateful to you for that. Instead of sitting in front of television, you can sit with your children and read books for them and teach them to read  also. You know that reading has many benefits as follows:

• Reading is said to lower your blood pressure.
• Reading can open whole new world to the children and will develop his or her memory.
• It can help in personal development.
• It can give you ideas to solve any kind of problem and will help children to lead independent life.
• It can improve your career.                                                

Next time, when you sit down with your children infront of idiot box, think about the benefits of reading books.

Parents can encourage children to read by gifting them books and reading with them or reading for them every half hour on daily basis. You will be happy that you did that and your children will be grateful to you for that.

are you living fully?

We are born only once and we will be treading on the planet earth only once. We are not sure what our next life will be and where we will be born. We have this one lifetime and we have to live it to the fullest without any regrets on our death bed. Are you living fully? If not, it is never late to do so.Better late than never. I have come across one quotation which will help us to live to the fullest.

Happiness within you

Did you read a book titled "The power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle? I love this book.There is a story given in prologue of this book. It tells  a story about a beggar begging on the street. A stranger comes to him and asks him about the box on which the beggar is sitting. He asks the beggar whether he has opened the box or not. The beggar says "No" and the stranger asks to open it. To his amazement, the beggar finds gold and silver coins in the box. The stranger says, you are sitting on the box of gold coins and you are begging for coins from other. This is the same case with happiness.

We look for happiness outside when it can be found within us. By living in the present, we can find happiness. If we remember the past, it brings guilt and regret and if we think about the future, it brings fear and anxiety. If we live in the present, there is no regret, guilt, fear and anxiety. So, live fully in the present. Be alive and don't let your music within die. Play, have fun and at the same time do your work or study. This is life.
